2018 CNV

EDUCATION & OUTREACH PROGRAMS

CNV’s Education & Outreach Programs are dedicated to creating specially curated opportunities for Napa Valley youth. We bring socially conscious films to local students and schools, and we also offer in-classroom instruction and hands-on internship opportunities year-round. We want the eye-opening art and inspirational power of cinematic storytelling – and the stories themselves – to be an integral part of the student learning experience.

ENGAGE

To expose students to films, filmmakers and subjects that open the conversation about critical social, relevant and timely issues in students’ lives by screening and discussing socially conscious films.

INFORM

To reach more than 3,500 students, parents and other community members throughout the year through unique programs both in school and in the community.

EDUCATE

To provide instruction and resources through select workshops, as well as internships and summer opportunities, that will inspire and motivate those students with a desire to pursue filmmaking.

OUTREACH

COMMUNITY SCREENINGS

CNV hosts and sponsors powerful film screening events for students, parents, and educators within the community, throughout the year. CNV seeks to provide a bridge to the young community by opening up discussion across the valley. This thought-provoking program is in collaboration with many Napa Valley organizations and has already served over 10,000 students in 12 schools valley-wide since 2011.

WORKSHOPS

2018 FILMMAKING CAMPS

The Cinema Napa Valley and Friends of the Cameo organizers are pleased to announce a new collaboration that brings filmmaking opportunities to students between 13-18 years of age. CNV and FOC will curate and produce two summer filmmaking camps focused on making narrative and documentary short films, both of which will take place at Pacific Union College .

EDUCATION

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Cinema Napa Valley offers both college and high school-level internships. Past CNV internships have included advancement in administration, festival operations, marketing, film editing, graphic design and film programming activities.
